Everton prepared to reject Chelsea’s advances: report

Chelsea are set to face disappointment in their pursuit of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Daily Mail claims that the Toffees have made up their mind to not let the Belgian leave this summer.

Chelsea’s attempts to unsettle Lukaku have reportedly left Toffees infuriated with the situation and they have now decided to take the same stance they adopted with John Stones last summer.

The recent reports have claimed that the Blues are planning to offer £65m+Loic Remy for their former player, but Mail maintains that the Merseysiders are prepared to turn that offer down.

The Belgium international has on multiple occasions stated his desire to leave Everton this summer. However, the Toffees are determined to keep hold of their prized player and have already started discussions over a new deal despite the fact that he still has three years left on his current deal.

Another report from the Daily Mirror has suggested that the Merseyside club are ready to offer a £135,000-a-week contract to the striker.

Toffees signed the 23-year-old from the West London club in the club-record £28m deal, a couple of seasons ago.

He scored 25 goals in all competitions for the Merseyside club last season.
