Cologne’s early season form has proved to be somewhat of a fluke – their most recent league outing saw them play out a 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen. Goals from Artjoms Rudnevs and Serge Gnabry cancelled each other out.

Augsburg secured a 1-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach as caretaker manager Manuel Baum getting the team back to winning ways. Martin Hinteregger scored the game’s lone goal.

Danny Latza scored a spirited hat-trick against Hamburg as Mainz picked up their first league win in three games. Bobby Wood was on the scoresheet for Hamburg.

Dortmund missed a chance to climb above Hertha Berlin and their previous opponents, Hoffenheim, as they held Julian Nagelsmann’s men to a 2-2 draw on Friday night.

Mark Uth opened the scoring for Hoffenheim but Dortmund issued a quick reply with through Mario Gotze’s strike.

Sandro Wagner doubled Hoffenheim’s lead before Marco Reus was brandished a red card and Dortmund was down to 10-men.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored in the second-half to earn der BVB a point in the game.
