Liverpool transfer news: Sakho staying put, but not Lucas

Liverpool centre-back Mamadou Sakho won’t be changing his clubs this summer.

The France international recently ran into disciplinary issues with manager Jurgen Klopp and was sent home in between of the Reds US tour.

Following the events of the last week, various reports have claimed that might be leaving the Merseysiders this summer.

Serie A club AS Roma have been linked with a loan move for the 26-year-old.

However, Sakho’s agent, Niakate Housseyni, has dismissed the reports of a rift between his client and Klopp and has claimed that the centre-back won’t be leaving the Reds this summer.

Sakho’s agent Housseyni told LaRoma24(via Daily Mirror): “No, I haven’t had any contact with Roma.

“He didn’t have an argument with his manager, Jurgen Klopp.

“So he’ll stay at Liverpool? Yes, he’s a Liverpool player. I don’t think Roma have that opportunity right now.”

However, Lucas Leiva’s future is hanging up in the air following the recent reports claiming that Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in signing the Brazilian midfielder.

Sky Sports claims that Lucas, who is in the final year of his contract at Anfield, doesn’t expect to be offered a new deal from the Reds and is a transfer target for the Turkish club.

Turkish newspaper Milliyet has gone one step ahead and claimed that the 29-year-old has already agreed on personal terms with Galatasaray.

Lucas, who arrived at Anfield from Brazilian club Gremio in 2007, has made 313 appearances in all competitions for Liverpool.

Liverpool defender Jon Flanagan is set to join Premier League club Burnley on a season-long move, according to Daily Mirror.

The 23-year-old has struggled with injuries for the majority of the past two seasons and the Reds hope that he will be able to return to his best under Sean Dyche next season.

Tribal Football has linked Liverpool with a move for Cologne left-back Jonas Hector.

The report claims that the Reds are planning to submit a bid for the German international in the coming days.

Cologne value their player at £22.5m and the Reds are reportedly ready to meet their valuation.
