Elsewhere, Crotone picked up their first win of the season against 11th placed Chievo Verona as goals from Trotta and Diego Falcinelli helped the Serie A’s rock-bottom side secure their first win of the season.

A brace from Jasmin Kurtic and a late strike for Daro Gomez saw Atalanta grab all three points at home in what turned out to be a one sided affair against 10th placed Genoa while Lazio climbed to fourth place with a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo.

Lulic opened the scoring for the home side before Ciro Immobile struck home to give Lazio a two-goal lead Gregoire Defrel bagged a consolation goal for Sassuolo in the 58th minute.

Monday night’s fixtures were full of goals as Udinese played out a 2-2 draw with Torino and Cagliari won 2-1 against Palermo.

Marco Benassi opened the scoring for Torino in the 15th minute thanks to an assist from Andrea Belotti. Udinese’s opener came in the 60th minute as Thereau struck home to put his side level, Duvan Zapata then scored what looked to be the winner 10 minutes later before Adam Ljajic ensured both teams shared the spoils with his effort in the 77th minute for Torino.

Daniele Dessena helped Cagliari to a 2-1 victory over strugglers Palermo with Nestorovski bagging a late consolation goal for the away side.
