Samir Nasri

Man City star a hot target for Italian clubs

Man City star Samir Nasri has emerged as a transfer target for a number of Italian clubs.

The Express reports that Serie A clubs AC Milan, Inter Milan and AS Roma are interested in the French midfielder and are contemplating a move for him.

The 29-year-old, who struggled with injuries last season, has been deemed surplus to the requirements by City manager Pep Guardiola.

The Spanish manager last month revealed in a press conference that Nasri arrived a little overweight at pre-season.
“Samir arrived back a little overweight but he is much, much better now,” Guardiola said during City’s tour of China.

The Citizens reportedly value the midfielder at £17m. Nasri arrived at City in a £24m move from Arsenal five years ago.

He made just seven league appearances for City last season and was omitted from City’s Champions League squad for the knockout stages by former manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Both Milan clubs, recently overtaken by Chinese groups, are planning to be busy in the transfer market in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Roma are looking for a replacement of Miralem Pjanic, who departed to Juventus earlier this summer.

Nasri has won two league titles during his time with Man City.
