Lukaku Poised for A Return to Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku who was shown the exit door just two years ago when he lost favour with the Stamford Bridge fans is believed to be nearing a return to his former club.

Lukaku has scored 45 goals in just two seasons for The Toffees making him an important player in the transfer window. He is willing to make his return to his former club, but Everton does not want to let go of him just yet.

As a result of this, Chelsea has thrown in Loic Remy who joined Chelsea from Queens Park Rangers and is currently valued at about £10million. Remy has scored about 11 goals for the club but has failed to impress Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink and also Antonio Conte.

Everton is short in attacking options and refused to let go of Lukaku but Chelsea has laid out a new offer of about £65million plus Loic Remy as an attractive option since Everton have tagged Lukaku for £75million, Chelsea is expecting a reply from Everton before Friday as the new Premier League season is about to begin.

Chelsea let go of Lukaku last two years for £28million but they seemed poised to buy him back for about £65million which has broken the record fee currently being held by Fernando Torres who was gotten for £50million, and this begs the question, "why did Chelsea get rid of him in the first place?"

Lukaku to Chelsea does not involve Diego Costa being sold, rumour has it that Costa would be going back to the Vicente Calderon to join his old club Atletico Madrid but Antonio Conte has made it very clear of the fact that he is not letting go of the Spaniard and would love to see him play together with Lukaku in a likely 4-4-2 formation.

Chelsea also wanted to acquire first-choice defender John Stones from Everton but have not made success with that but have decided to conclude the deal for Romelu Lukaku.
