Diego Costa

Chelsea striker might leave and midfielder interests Inter Milan

Chelsea striker Diego Costa’s future is not certain at the West London club, according to the latest quotes from manager Antonio Conte.

The 27-year-old, who suffered a turbulent time in Premier League last season due to disciplinary issues, has long been linked with a return to his former club Atletico Madrid.

Furthermore, the Madrid-club have also publicly stated their desire to bring him back to Vicente Calderon on a number of occasions.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte yesterday hinted in his press conference that Costa might not stay at Stamford Bridge beyond this summer.

When asked about Costa’s future at the club, the Italian manager said: “I can say that today Costa is a Chelsea player.

“He didn’t play in these games because of injury and if he solves the injury and I see in training that he is in good shape it can be possible to see him in the next game against Milan.

“But I can say only this. I speak only for today and today Costa is Chelsea’s player. Tomorrow if you ask me if Costa will remain with us, I don’t know.”

The Spain international signed for the Blues in 2014 for £32 million and helped the club claim a double in his debut season.

However, his next season was marred with controversies as he attracted a lot of negative attention with his on-pitch antics and incurred match bans on more than one occasion.

The recent links linking Chelsea with a move for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku have further fuelled the rumours of Costa’s departure from the club.

The West London club have reportedly lodged an improved bid of £60 for their former player and are confident of signing him sooner or later.

Meanwhile, Serie A club Inter Milan have expressed their interest in Chelsea midfielder Oscar.

Italian football journalist Gianluca di Marzio has reported today that Inter are keeping tabs on the Brazil international.

The 24-year-old, who signed for £19.35m from Internacional in 2012, arrived at Stamford Bridge with a huge pedigree but has failed to live up to the expectations of late. Last season, he was blamed by Chelsea fans for the club’s poor form.

He has also been linked with a move to Serie A champions Juventus.
