RB Leipzig managed to carry on with their impressive form in the Bundesliga as they secured an impressive 4-1 win away at Freiburg on Friday, the result saw them maintain a three-point lead over Bayern Munich who seems to have fallen short of expectations in recent times.
A goal from Naby Keita and three others from Timo Werner (brace) and Marcel Sabitzer saw Leipzig continue their fairytale run.
Bayern secured a 2-1 win courtesy of goals from Thiago Alcantara and Mats Hummels. Hakan Calhanoglu scored what proved to be a consolation goal for Leverkusen in the 35th minute.
Dortmund lost pace with the title race once again as they succumbed to a 2-1 defeat away at Frankfurt. Aubameyang continued his fine form in front of goal, but it wasn’t enough to cancel out Huszti and Seferovic’s second-half goals for Frankfurt.
Cologne and Augsburg played out a goalless draw while Gladbach’s poor run of form continued as they settled for a point against high-flying Hoffenheim.
Serge Gnabry continued his fine form in front of goal as he scored the equalizer for Werder Bremen against Hamburger SV to salvage a point.
Micheal Gregoritsch bagged a brace for Hamburg, but goals from Bartels and Gnabry saw the game end as a 2-2 draw.
Wolfsburg currently sit in 14th place after being held to a 1-1 draw by Ingolstadt Anthony Jung and Daniel Caligiuri were on target for their respective sides, but none were unable to score a decisive goal.
Schalke continued their impressive climb the table following a 3-1 win over Darmstadt. Darmstadt took the lead through Marcel Heller’s strike in the 6th minute, but goals from Kolasinac, Choupo-Moting, and Alessandro Schoepf saw Schalke grab all three points.
The Olympiastadion saw Hertha Berlin pick up a 2-1 win over Mainz thanks to a brace from Vedad Ibisevic who went on to get sent off the game after picking up a yellow card in the 74th minute.
Aaron Seydel scored Mainz’ lone goal in the 25th minute; the result saw them sit at 9th in the Bundesliga Standings.
