Barcelona picked up an emphatic 4-0 win at Eibar with the entire MSN trio getting on the scoresheet. Barca had previously experienced a dip in form which attracted a host of critics, but Barca have done superbly well to put that bad spell behind them.
Denis Suarez opened the scoring for Barca before Suarez found Messi with an exquisite through ball which the Argentinian duly converted. Suarez then got his name on the scoresheet as Barcelona’s tally went up to three goals.
Neymar scored the final goal of the game to seal the 4-0 thumping of Eibar.
Real Sociedad closed in on Atletico Madrid following a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo. Juanmi scored the game’s only goal as Sociedad closed in on Atletico Madrid who currently sits in fourth place by virtue of goal difference.
Athletic Bilbao held Atletico Madrid to a 2-2 draw which had a significant effect on the league standings regarding the top four race. Inigo Lekue and Oscar de Marcos were on target for Bilbao whilst Atletico Madrid’s goals came through Gabi and Griezmann.
Las Palmas and Deportivo played out a 1-1 draw with Florin Andone rescuing a draw for the away side. Las Palmas’ goal came courtesy of Ezequiel Garcia. Alaves and Leganes were also involved in a stalemate, but a relatively more intriguing one as the game ended 2-2.
Victor Laguardia opened the scoring for Las Palmas before Guerrero pegged one back for the away side. Goals from Mendez and Pablo Insua cancelled each other out as the game ended 2-2.
Real Madrid suffered an injury blow as Marcelo limped off the field against Malaga. Sergio Ramos scored a brace to ensure Madrid went away with the three points. Juanpi scored a consolation goal for Malaga as Los Blancos retained top spot.
Villarreal suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Valencia as goals from Carlos Soler and Santi Mina saw Valencia pull off an upset.
Granada was swept away by the Espanyol’s masterclass as they put three goals past Guillermo Ochoa courtesy of Reyes, Pablo Piatti and Marc Navarro. Andreas Pereira was on target for Granada despite the goal having no significant impact on the game.
Sevilla saw off the challenge of Osasuna as Sampaoli’s men secured a 4-3 win. Vincente Iborra bagged a brace for Sevilla with Franco Vazquez and Pablo Sarabia also getting on the scoresheet.
Vincente Iborra scored an own goal for Osasuna with Sergio Leon and Kenan Kodro also bagging one apiece at the Estadio El Sadar.
