Arsenal have received a boost in their pursuit of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.
The Gunners, who are in dire need of a new striker, have already seen one bid of around £29m rejected for the French striker.
Lyon have repetitively claimed that they have no intention of selling their prized asset, but Lacazette’s latest comments will provide a ray of hope to the Gunners.
The 25-year-old, who scored a hat trick in Lyon’s 3-0 win over Nancy on Sunday, claimed after the game that he won’t turn down an opportunity to play for a major club.
He told Canal +: “If offers come in that one cannot refuse, I don’t want to refuse them. If not, I am happy at Lyon.”
Lacazette is reportedly valued at £60m by his club, but it’s very unlikely that the Gunners will pay such a vast sum for him.
Meanwhile, tensions are running at all-time high among the Arsenal fanbase following the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday. Arsenal fans have been frustrated at the lack of transfer activity from the club.
The Gunners are closing in on a move for Valencia centre-back Shkodran Mustafi, but the fans want the club to sign a striker who can compete with Olivier Giroud for a spot in the starting eleven.
