Serie A Roundup game week 4- Inter Milan vs Juventus

Serie A Roundup Game Week 4

Inter Milan were the big winners in Serie A this week as they inflicted the first defeat of the season on Juventus in Derby d’Italia. Napoli also won their game to climb to the top of the league table while AS Roma succumbed to Fiorentina.

The Serie A action last week started with AC Milan’s trip to Sampdoria on Friday night. Rossoneri won the game 1-0 thanks to Carlos Bacca’s 85th-minute goal.

Only two fixtures took place on Saturday.

In the first game, Lazio defeated Pescara 3-0 at Olimpico Stadium, Rome. All three goals were scored in the last 24 minutes of the game, by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Stefan Radu and Ciro Immobile respectively.

In the next fixture, Napoli defeated Bologna 3-1 to climb to the top of the league table. José Callejón opened the scoring for the Naples side in the first-half. However, Simone Verdi drew the away side level on the 56th-minute. The parity didn’t last long, and summer-signing Arkadiusz Milik scored a brace to clinch all three points for his side.

Moving on to Sunday fixtures, Udinese lost 1-2 to Chievo at home. The home side led for the majority of the game through Duván Zapata’s 25th-minute opener. Lucas Castro levelled the score for Chievo in the 82nd minute, and Fabrizio Cacciatore clinched all three points for them in the fifth minute of the injury time.

Cagliari defeated Atalanta 3-0 at home. Marco Borriello scored a brace, and Marco Sau added one more to complete the scoreline.

The game between recently promoted Crotone and Palermo ended in a 1-1 draw. Marcello Trotta scored for Crotone in the first half, and Ilija Nestorovsk levelled things up for Palermo in the second half.
The draw earned Crotone’s first point of the season. The club, who are making their debut in Serie A this season, currently occupy the bottom place in the league table with just one point from four games. Palermo sit a spot above them with two points.

Last year’s surprise Sassuolo defeated Genoa 2-0 to claim their second win of the season. Matteo Politano opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 58th minute of the game, and Gregoire Defrel added the second in the 66th minute.

Torino and Empoli played out a goalless draw at Olimpico di Torino. The game was England international Jose Hart’s second appearance of his loan move and his first clean sheet for his new club.

The biggest game of the week was played out between Inter Milan and Juventus at San Siro. Inter won the game 2-1 to inflict season’s first defeat on Serie A champions. Stephan Lichtsteiner, against the run of play, gave the visitors a lead on the 66th-minute of the game. However, Inter were level two minutes later when Mauro Icardi headed the ball into the net from Éver Banega’s cross. Ivan Perisic won the game for his side in the 78th minute through a header from Icardi’s assist.
This result was also Old Lady’s only second defeat in Serie A since they lost 1-0 to Sassuolo in October.
Banega received a 90th-minute red card for the winning side.

In the last game of the week, AS Roma had a glorious opportunity to climb past Juventus and level with leaders Napoli. They were clearly the better side against Fiorentina but failed to put the ball into the net.
Milan Badelj scored in the 82nd minute for the home side to inflict a 1-0 defeat on Roma. It was Roma’s first defeat of the season.
