Serie A Matchday 10 roundup

Serie A Matchday 10 Roundup + Highlights

Inter Milan secured a much needed win against Torino courtesy of a stunning brace from Mauro Icardi, Torino’s only goal came through Andrea Belotti’s second-half strike prior to Icardi popping up with the winner in the 88th minute.

Fran De Boer will be hoping to build on Inter’s win following a poor start to the season which has seen Nerazzurri fall out of the title race in the early stages of the Serie A season.

Icardi’s late strike brought a huge sigh of relief as Inter would’ve continued their poor run of form had the Italy international not found the back of the net. The win will surely serve as a huge confidence boost for De Boer’s side.

Juventus turned on the style against Sampdoria as the league leaders claimed all three points following a 4-1 home win.

The opening 10 minutes of the game saw Mandzukic and Chiellini gift Juventus a two-goal lead, Sampdoria then showed signs of a comeback when Patrik Schick pulled one back.

Schick’s goal was of no help to Sampdoria as the visitors conceded two more goals with Miralem Pjanic and Chiellini getting on the scoresheet once more to complete Juve’s four-goal rout.

Elsewhere at the top of the table, Roma grabbed a crucial 3-1 win away at Sassuolo after going a goal down with Paolo Cannavaro’s 12th minute header.

Edin Dzeko’s goalscoring form continued as he bagged a brace which currently sees him top the scoring charts with 10 goals in 10 league matches. Roma’s third of the game came through Radija Nainggolan who put the game to bed.

Cagliari suffered a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Lazio with Ciro Immobile scoring a brace following Balde Keita’s opener. Lazio’s fourth goal of the game came courtesy of Felipe Anderson. Wallace scored what proved to be a consolation goal in the 79th minute.

Pescara suffered yet another disappointing defeat in the Serie A as Atalanta secured a 1-0 victory over the Serie A strugglers thanks to a goal from Mattia Caldara while Fiorentina was held to a 1-1 draw by Crotone with Diego Falcinelli and Davide Astori getting on the scoresheet for their respective sides.

Dries Mertens and Vlad Chiriches bagged both goals for Napoli in a 2-0 win over Empoli.

Erick Pulgar got on the scoresheet for Bologna as his side remained winless after five games following Mbaye’s own goal which saw Chievo Verona come out of the game with a crucial point.

Despite having secured a win against league leader’s Juventus last time out, AC Milan were victims of complacency as Genoa put three goals past them on Tuesday night.

Nikola Ninkovic opened the scoring for AC Milan following an 11th minute strike, Milan were then down to 10 men in the second-half after Gabrel Paletta was sent off.

An own goal from Juraj Kucka doubled Genoa’s lead in the 80th minute before Leonardo Pavoletti completed the rout for the home side.

Thursday night’s fixture saw Palermo host Udinese at the Stadio Renzo Barbera In what turned out to be a victory for the visitors.

Palermo were a goal up after 10 minutes thanks to a strike from Ilija Nesorovski, Cyril Thereau pulled one back for the away side before Seko Fofana bagged a brace to secure the three points for Udinese.
