Gonzalo Higuain scored a sensational solo goal as Juventus picked up a 1-0 win over title rivals Roma, thus extending their lead at the top of the table to seven points.

Edoardo Goldaniga clawed one back for Palermo before goals from Andrea Rispoli and Trajkovski helped Palermo to a 4-3 victory.

Elsewhere, Inter Milan secured a hard-fought win thanks to a goal from Antonio Candreva, while Chievo Verona climbed into the top-half of the table with a 2-1 win over Sampdoria.

Pescara suffered a home defeat at the hands of Bologna as goals from Adam Masina, Blerim Dzemaili and Ladislav Krejci saw the away side pick up a 3-0 win.

Cyril Thereau struck home twice to give Udinese a 2-0 win over strugglers Crotone.

AC Milan was held to a goalless draw by Atalanta which saw them lose pace on the title race, but as things stand, they still have a chance of getting into the Champions League.
