Sane transfer to Man City

Guardiola speaks on Sane and Stones transfer

Pep Guardiola has revealed that Manchester City is keen on acquiring the services of Schalke’s Leroy Sane and Everton’s John Stones according to reports from Goal.

Both players have been under Guardiola’s radar since the start of the transfer window with the Spanish tactician interested in bolstering his squad ahead of next season.

City’s interest in Sane goes back as far as last season when Manuel Pellegrini was still at the helm. Despite being a 20-year-old, it’s quite obvious Sane has what it takes to be a consistent performer in the English top flight as he already has some good experience under his belt.

The interest in John Stones came shortly after Guardiola’s arrival at the Etihad. After being the subject of multiple bids from Chelsea last season, Stones looks set to be on his way to City with the Citizen’s ready to splash the cash on the defender.

"Sane is a player from Schalke - you know, I know, everyone knows we would like to have him but at the moment he's a player from Schalke," he said after the International Champions Cup clash with Borussia Dortmund.

"If he comes, we'll be happy. If he stays, I'll be happy for the Schalke fans."

When asked about Stones, he replied: "It's the same answer for Sane - he's a player for Everton. Everyone knows we're going to try but we will see. I'm so happy with the way we're training."

Pep Guardiola seems set to implement his tiki-taka system at Manchester City although due to the League’s high-intensity we might be seeing some possession football with a hint of counter attacking football.

Guardiola enjoyed loads of success at Bayern Munich and Barcelona thanks to his tactical advocacy, although the Premier League is a bit different from the La Liga and Bundesliga, Pep is still expected to have a great effect on City’s style of play.
