Done deals of the day including Defour, Tello and more

One more day is over in the transfer window. As we are inching closer towards the end of the window, the transfer market seems to be heating up.
We expect a really busy next couple of weeks in the transfer market, but first, let’s take a look at the done deals from August 16.

To start with, Burnley have signed Belgium international Steven Defour for a club-record transfer fee from Anderlecht. The Clarets paid £8m for the 28-year-old midfielder, who has 46 caps for Belgium national team. He has signed a three-year deal with the Premier League club.

Barcelona have confirmed that winger Cristian Tello has re-join Fiorentina on a season-long loan move. The Florence club will have the option to make the deal permanent next summer. The 25-year-old also spent the second half of last season on loan with Fiorentina.

West Ham have signed Argentinean striker Jonathan Calleri on a season-long loan from Uruguayan club Deportivo Maldonado. The 22-year-old was a part of the Argentina U23 squad for the ongoing Rio Olympics.

AS Roma have signed full-back Bruno Peres from Serie A rivals Torino on a loan move. The Rome club have the option to make the permanent for a fee of 12.5 million euros. The 26-year-old Brazilian was also linked with a move to Arsenal.

Everton defender Luke Garbutt has joined Championship side Wigan Athletic in a loan move until January 2. The 23-year-old left back spent last season on loan at Fulham. He has made five Premier League appearances for the Toffees.

Sheffield Wednesday have signed midfielder David Jones from Burnley for an undisclosed fee. The 31-year-old has played for the likes of Burnley, Wigan, Wolves and Derby County in Premier League.

Man City have signed defender Pablo Mari from Spanish second-tier side Gimnastic Tarragona. He will join another Spanish tier two side Girona on a loan move in the coming days.

Leeds United have signed midfielder Liam Bridcutt from Sunderland on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee. He spent the second half of last season on loan with Leeds. The 27-year-old joined the Black Cats in 2014 and made 30 league appearances for them.
