Crystal Palace interested in Loic Remy

Crystal Palace shift their focus from Liverpool man to Chelsea man

Crystal Palace have registered their interest in Chelsea’s forgotten man Loic Remy.

French publication L’Equipe claims that the Eagles have enquired about a loan move for the French striker.

The report mentions that the Blues would prefer to sell the player, but the Eagles remains favourites to sign the player as he prefers to stay in London. L’Equipe has suggested that Everton are also interested in signing the player.

Ligue 1 club Lyon have also been linked with the 29-year-old striker.

Remy has fallen completely out of favour at Chelsea and didn’t feature in Antonio Conte’s match-day squad for the season-opening game against West Ham. He made 13 league appearances for the West London club last season.

Palace’s pursuit of Remy could mean that they have given up in their pursuit of Liverpool striker Cristian Benteke.

The Eagles, who are in actively looking for a striker in the transfer market, submitted a £23m (plus add-ons) bid for the Belgium international, but their approach was turned down by the Reds.

The Merseysiders, who bought Benteke for £32m from Aston Villa last summer, want to recoup the entire sum they paid for the striker and are not prepared to sell him at a lesser value.
